Welcoming a young veteran to his new home

Today we were honored to witness a special day for a young war veteran. Sergeant Justin Feagin and his family received the keys to their new home in Melissa, Texas, thanks to The Collin County Association of Realtors and Texas Sentinels Foundation, a nonprofit organization that builds debt-free homes for wounded veterans. Many local businesses and community members together made this happen, and our donation of beds was just a small part. Thank you Justin for your service and sacrifice to our country, and we wish you and your family many nights of peaceful sleep in your new home!

A new beginning for Dylan's family

A few days before Christmas we received a request from an Arlington children’s charity called A Wish with Wings. They were working with Rentenbach Constructors to remodel a home for a family with a child with a severe disability. Now 12-year-old Dylan is starting off the new year with a wheelchair ramp, his own room and a new mattress! Read the full story here.

KLTY makes a Christmas Wish come true

I love Christmas, the season for giving.  And our friends at 94.9 KLTY give in a BIG way.  We got to be a part of the KLTY Christmas Wish again this year and it always amazes me how the community comes together to help a family in need. 78-year-old Edgar Lewis lost his house and all of his possessions in a fire earlier this year. Edgar and his wife are raising his three grandchildren and they had been sleeping on the floor since the fire. We got to be there when KLTY surprised them with furnishings (including beds donated by Sleep Experts of course!), gift cards, and even a new car! Here is the story that ran on Fox 4 News.

Sharing the Gift of Sleep with local heroes

Our friends at Simmons Bedding Company asked us to join them in Dallas for their "Work Hot, Sleep Cool" Fire station makeover tour. On Monday we surprised a team of Dallas County volunteer firefighters with seven new ComforPedic Loft beds for their bunkroom. It was an honor meet these heroes and to Share the Gift of Sleep with the men and women who volunteer their time to help the community!

The Willow Bend Sleep Experts store in Plano received two significant donations last weekend: 9 huge bags of new hand-crocheted blankets from a woman and her son; and 40 handmade leopard-print blankets from a Girl Scout troop. Thanks to all who are Sharing the Warmth with families in need! We are still accepting donations through the weekend.  Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving!
